Here are some highlights from Jasmyne's acceptance of an award for her activism in the Los Angeles LGBT community.

Tomorrow is the summer solstice. The longest day. I will no doubt be spending it in meetings which will make it appear twice as long!

Everyone have a great summer and let's do more BBQ. Bob, you're already covered. Everybody else, let's get busy!

Had a terrific weekend starting with the Cittio party. Here are just a few images from the Friday get-together.

Then Angie and Hooch drove down Friday night so we could attend Vertuical Challenge 2007 at the Hiller Aviation Museum.

It was Hooch's first time staying in a hotel. Elevators seemed to blow his mind for about a day but then he got pretty cool about it.

We met with our good friend Roberto for breakfast at the Sky Cafe in the morning.

Then Hooch and Roberto got acquainted.

After that we hit the show:

After that we went over to Bob and Brgita's for a BBQ:

We all had a great time, Angie and Hooch are safely back home, and I'm back on the job.

Note: Pics from my L.A. trip this weekend are coming.

Daybreak on the North Coast

I left about midnight last night for home so I got in right at daybreak this morning. Here are a few images and captions to show you what it's like here during the dawn.

I didn't embed them in the page because I think they're much better experienced in a full-screen slide show. Try it out.

Also included:

Introducing Hooch, the wonder-dog! He's our new buddy. He is both my dog and my dawg now.

Trying to talk Angie into driving down to San Carlos for our annual trek to Vertical Challenge, the helicopter exhibition and festival. If she comes down, Hooch will probably show up, too. So if you're in the Bay Area and want to get his autograph, now's your chance.

Court in the City

Hi Everybody,

I'm not in the East Bay anymore. I'm renting an in-law apartment from a really nice lady in San Francisco. Carole is a sculptress and I've included some pictures here of her work. More to come.

Wanna say thanks much to my buddy Roberto for putting me up at his place after I started at Cittio until I could find a place. He's been a lifesaver for both me and Angie.

I'll be at home tomorrow morning so you'll get plenty of pictures of our "new addition" to the family, Hooch (the Pooch). With any luck we'll be getting the appearance of rare species, "Daughter Joeigh", if she makes it in for dinner on the weekend. Trying to get a shot for National Geographic!

Morning in the Killzone

Here are some random pictures of my "brothers-and-sisters-in-arms" who brave the front lines at Cittio in the "Killzone".

News Flash!

A new arrival at Casa Cannick on the Coast! We just took in a 1-year old Lab/Shar Pei mix dog named Hooch to live with us because I had no one to kick off the couch and to eat me out of house and home. I feel so much better now. Pictures of the newest Cannick coming this weekend!
Eldest daughter, Jasmyne, has been doing some globetrotting in Sierra Leone. She's now safely back home but there were close calls.

Here's a note I received from her yesterday:

Check it out on her site.

Also, here's Jasmyne sporting her new "straight outta the Motherland" look!

LunchWalking with Court

This past weekend I was at home so our lunchwalk was down the beach to the airport, upto the College of the Redwoods and back down Glenn to our house.

Wow! It's been a while since I posted anything new. It's been pretty hectic the last few weeks.

The Celeron-based system that the company gave me turned into a bad joke as I was getting bogged down with work. Because of compatibility issues I had to upgrade to Office 2007 to share some services with the other guys. My puny 512MB Celeron wept in its Wheaties under the onslaught of Microsoft bloated code. It took me a half-hour just to to to my mail!!

So, long story short, they gave me this 4GB 3.0GHz P4 box to run on. A wee bit better, laddies, but not as much as you'd think!
