Just boppin' down the street after a meeting this morning when I came across this. Now what IS wrong with this picture may be hard to detect. I beg your pardon for not having a telephoto lens handy. But if you follow the converging line of sight down the sidewalk (and maybe blow this picture up) you'll see a 6-foot tall Panda bear standing around outside the building with all the other smokers!
Today was an atypical day in that I didn't have a single meeting! One was scheduled with a client on the East Coast but the bad weather brought down their Internet connection and, all of a sudden, I was free, free, maddeningly free!
We're in the process of moving our department down the street into "The Cave", the Geek Ghetto where the company houses all those of us socially unpresentable tech types.
Here are a few pictures from the start of my day up to a walk over to "The Cave" to get some "before" pics while it's in its raw state.
There'll be more tomorrow after we tame the Cave and civilize it to our geeky delight.
My sister turned a whopping 57 years old today. She's in L.A. having lunch and a movie with our mom this afternoon. I, on the other hand, am sitting in an office in downtown San Francisco configuring a PIX firewall for a site-to-site VPN today.
Joyce says it's sunny and nice in L.A. It's been raining gatos y perros here in the City for a couple of days.
Next week, the tech team moves into our new digs on Tehama Street. We call it "The Cave". Pictures to come... Very sorry to hear about Jim Gray, the Microsoft Fellow who was lost at sea. I briefly knew him through my work at the SETI Lab.
I'll be home for the lunar eclipse on 3/3. Dark night skies...it should be wonderful!
One last thing! My dear friend from teaching days, Jobie, has pulled up stakes and moved to San Diego. You lucky, San Diegans!!
