Help the School, Folks

Hi Everybody,

Most of you probably know that daughter Jasmyne does a lot of charitable work with actor/philanthropist Isaiah Washington. Their biggest project has been to establish a school in the Bo County region of Sierra Leone. Well, the school has been completed!

As a former educator, I'm fully supporting this effort and I hope all my friends in education, current and former, will help out as well. And, if you're not a teacher, a nice way to pay homage to a good one you had is by chipping in!

The money goes to a very good cause and is tax deductible.

If you're in the L.A. area you can personally hand that check over to Isaiah Washington or Jasmyne at a fundraiser this Wednesday evening, 11/28, at the Gordon Biersch Brewery, 145 South San Fernando Boulevard in Burbank (818-569-5240). There'll be music, free food, and a raffle (and, one would assume, beer too!)

If, like me, you can only be there in spirit, you can still whip out that checkbook and show the love.

$10 provides an anti-malarial bed net to protect an entire family! And a mere $50 sponsors a student for an entire year at the Chief Foday Golia Memorial School.

Donations should be addressed to:
The Gondobay Manga Foundation
1101 South Flower Street, Suite 4
Burbank, CA 91502

A 501 (c) (3) organization.

Thanks everybody!!
